Deregulation of the trucking business and increasing competition from new service-oriented non-union carriers left CF, an established union carrier, in not only a price war, but also in a war for customer loyalty. This video showed how CF was meeting the diverse needs of four high profile customers.

Due to the high price of storage space and the rapid changes in what’s hot in a specific location – Footaction, a distributor of sports footwear, needed multiple small orders delivered to mall stores. Doing this, and doing it well is not something the shipping public would expect from a large union LTL carrier.

AT&T runs a 'just in time' distribution center for the entire U.S. out of Charlotte N.C. To fulfill their mission they need guaranteed transit times, en-route visibility, and on time delivery.

Putnam Publishing distributes its best selling paperbacks from an upstate New York distribution center. In order to be fair to all its authors and re-sellers, all shipments of new releases must arrive at bookstores everywhere in the country on the same day.

Rawlings is the official supplier of baseballs to the major leagues. These balls are each assembled and hand sewn in Costa Rica from materials made in the United States. Rawlings must consolidate these materials from all over the country for containerization and shipment to Costa Rica under one Bill of Lading.

CF handles the logistics from the time Rawlings places the orders with its U.S. manufacturers to the time the materials reach the factory in Costa Rica.
